Arithmetic mean

The arithmetic mean or arithmetic average of a list of numbers is the sum of the numbers divided by the list's length.

$\overline{x}=\frac1n\cdot\sum_{k=1}^n x_k$

The arithmetic mean, denoted $\overline{x}$ , is found amongst $n$ distinct values of $x$ by summing them and dividing by $n$ .
